During the raid, authorities discovered a lion cub being illegally kept in one of the houses in the "Kokishtuvon" mahalla of Romitan District.

An administrative report was filed against the offender under Part 1, Article 92,  Paragraph 1, of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The collected case documents were also submitted to judicial authorities for further action. The lion cub was temporarily placed in a zoo for safekeeping.

For reference: According to Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 736, from 1 January 2025, individuals are prohibited to keep certain species of wild animals in semi-wild conditions, in artificially created habitats or in captivity. It is also prohibited to use these animals for performances in state and travelling circuses.
