The meeting was held in accordance with Presidential Decree No.124 of August 26, 2024, aimed at establishing a system of state support for civil society institutions based on the principles of transparency and fair competition, as well as creating additional conditions to enhance the effectiveness of socially beneficial programs.
The event was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and representatives of organizations such as the "Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan", "Mehr va Oqibat", "Ekolog", "Ekoland", "Ecomaktab", "Indigo", "Jonli Tabiat", "Logos", "Suvchi" and others.
During the meeting, participants were informed about the ongoing reforms in ecology and environmental protection, the role of civil society institutions in these efforts, and the outcomes of joint projects. Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology addressed participants' questions and considered suggestions and feedback from civil society representatives.
The discussion covered issues such as the development of environmental volunteering, improving air quality, preventing water resource pollution, implementing innovative waste management solutions, and expanding environmental education programs. Participants also explored mechanisms for providing grants to NGOs, their role in monitoring environmental conditions and their collaboration with government agencies in implementing conservation initiatives.
As a result of the discussions, the proposals put forward by NGO representatives will be incorporated into relevant regulatory and legal frameworks for further implementation. Ministry specialists expressed their readiness for continued constructive cooperation and emphasized the importance of partnership with civil society institutions in achieving the country’s environmental sustainability.
