CAREC operates under a unique mandate granted by five Central Asian countries. Its mission is to assist these nations in addressing both national and regional environmental issues. To achieve this, CAREC facilitates the creation of platforms for interstate and interdepartmental dialogue, enabling the introduction of innovative knowledge, technologies, and best practices in the region. This approach fosters the development and implementation of progressive environmental policies, encourages public participation in decision-making on environmental issues, and enhances information sharing at the regional level.
The primary responsibilities of the Country Office Director in the Republic of Uzbekistan include implementing the organization’s strategic plan, representing its interests, securing funding through the development of project ideas and proposals, monitoring financial activities, supporting the implementation of CAREC projects, and assisting the Executive Director in coordinating activities and projects with other organizational divisions.
Requirements for candidates:
-A higher education degree in ecology, economics, or management.
-At least 5 years of experience in environmental protection and sustainable development.
-A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing international programs and projects.
-Skills in project management, organizational and personnel management, and negotiations.
-Proven experience in securing funding.
-Fluency in English and Russian (both spoken and written).
-Ability to work in a team, mobility, and energy.
Additional advantages during the selection process include:
A second higher education degree in management.
Work experience in international organizations.
Knowledge of the official languages of Central Asian countries.

The monthly salary of the Country Office Director at CAREC is $2,000–2,500. The application deadline for the position is January 24 of the current year.
