The agreement was signed by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the UAE-based Tadweer Group.
It is noteworthy that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had earlier reviewed presentations of projects focused on waste processing, electricity generation, and product manufacturing, emphasizing their significant social impact.
For information: under the Tadweer Group project, a $200 million incineration plant will be constructed in the Bukhara region on a 10-hectare site. The facility will have the capacity to process 1,500 tons of waste per day. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025, with the plant for electricity generation through solid household waste incineration planned to launch in 2027, serving the Bukhara and Navoi regions.
The project will enable the thermal disposal of 547,500 tons of waste annually, significantly reducing environmental impact. It will generate 363 million kWh of electricity, reduce the number of landfills by 50 percent, and supply electricity to 21,000 households. Additionally, 150 new jobs will be created, and 350 specialists will be trained annually.
