Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov noted that in recent years the government of the country has created many opportunities for the development of the tourism industry.
"Resolutions and decrees of the President have created many opportunities for the development of the tourism industry. The visa regime has been simplified. For comparison, in 2016, visa-free entry to Uzbekistan was available only for 9 countries. There are already 94 such states today. Uzbekistan has become one of the favorite places for foreign tourists. In addition, various popular international brands such as Radisson, Hilton, Accor, Marriott, Wyndham, and others have appeared in the country. The quality of tourist services has improved. In turn, along with the development of the hospitality industry, national traditions have also been preserved. The Ethno village operating in various regions introduces tourists to the national values of our people", said the minister.
A. Abdukhakimov also noted that young people should study foreign languages, especially English and Chinese, and that the future of the tourism industry cannot be imagined without talented, well-versed young professionals.
Gulchehra Rikhsieva, rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, also noted that the number of talented, eco-active youth in the fields of ecology and tourism is increasing. Chairman of the Council of Young Ambassadors of Tourism of the Republic of Komiljon Suyarov stressed that the role of youth is increasing in finding effective solutions to problems in the field, and their opinion is given great attention.
During the event, young participants discuss various issues on the topic "New Uzbekistan: global cooperation for the development of sustainable tourism". Each delegate represents a separate country, defends its position, proposes solutions, and participates in voting. During two days, the young delegates will discuss the mechanisms of work of international organizations on various topical issues and problems, learn how to make important decisions, master diplomatic skills and the art of public speaking, as well as improve communication skills.
Within the framework of the "Model UN" project, young people will have the opportunity to discuss environmental and tourism topics in Uzbek, Russian, and English. The discussion project will help participants explore topics in depth and exchange ideas. The event is an important platform aimed not only at exploring new ideas in the field of tourism and ecology but also at enhancing communication among young people and strengthening international cooperation.
