Information has spread on social networks that a bird of prey has been spotted in a settlement in the Tashkent district of the Tashkent region.

The situation was studied by employees of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change and its regional department, who found out that this is a cinereous vulture.

For information: the cinereous vulture is listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Appendix II of CITES in the status of a close to vulnerable, mosaic-spread subspecies. The global population of these birds is slowly declining and amounts to 7.2–10 thousand pairs. In Uzbekistan, the black vulture is common in the Western Tien Shan, Western Pamir Alay, and the remnant mountains of Bukantau and Tamdytau.

The cinereous vulture was transferred to the Tashkent Zoo for medical check and necessary treatment. Currently, the condition of the bird is under constant control.
