On the night of 5–6 November, air quality in Tashkent deteriorated during the evening hours. From 20:00 onwards, the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached the “Unhealthy” level. After midnight, air quality improved, with readings reaching the “Moderate” level in the morning. Under the national air quality index, the citywide average remained at the “Yellow” level until midnight before improving to the “Green” level.
During the evening, light winds limited the dispersion of emissions from the city and neighbouring areas, as well as PM particles, allowing them to accumulate in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere. After midnight, the arrival of warm, dry air from the east, an increase in wind speed and improved air circulation facilitated the dispersion of PM particles, resulting in a significant improvement in air quality.
In addition, specialists from the "National Centre for Environmental Monitoring" conducted instrumental measurements of ambient air quality in Tashkent and Kibray district.
According to forecasts, today, 6 November, air quality in Tashkent is expected to be predominantly at the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” level under the international AQI, while the national air quality index is expected to remain predominantly at the “Green” level, with occasional periods at the “Yellow” level.
For reference, measures aimed at improving air quality are currently ongoing. In particular, following complaints from residents, officers of the Eco-Police under the Committee on Ecology conducted an inspection of the activities of "N.H.P" LLC in Tashkent in accordance with established procedures. The inspection revealed in response to which appropriate measures were taken and instructions were issued to rectify the violations.
Furthermore, identified at another construction site in Tashkent, and the necessary measures were taken. A briefing was also held to inform the public about such violations.
