During the raids, several violations of environmental requirements governing the treatment and authorised discharge of industrial wastewater were identified. In particular, enterprises operating under the names “B.S.I.”, “M.K.”, “P.U.”, “Sh.R.B.” and “S.S.P.” were found to be discharging wastewater generated during the processing of sand and gravel mixtures onto open land without adequate treatment.
Laboratory analysis of wastewater samples collected at these sites revealed that the concentration of suspended solids exceeded the established standards several times over.
A similar violation was identified at “I.Q.S.”, a specialised repair and construction company, where wastewater was also discharged onto open land without adequate treatment. Furthermore, none of the aforementioned cases had the required positive conclusions from the state environmental assessment.
Compensation for the environmental damage caused will be calculated for each enterprise. The materials collected during the inspections will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment of the identified violations.
