On October 30, air quality in Tashkent was classified as “Unhealthy” according to the International Air Quality Index (AQI). Under the National Air Quality Index, the citywide average was classified as “Yellow”. As of 3:00 PM, the average AQI across the city stood at 170.

Air quality is being affected by strong temperature inversions observed during the night and early morning, very light winds and limited air circulation in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
In addition, the persistence of air masses around the city is restricting the dispersion of local emissions. Although air temperatures rose during the daytime, weak winds prevented sufficient air circulation in the atmosphere.
