Air quality in Tashkent changes again amid unfavourable meteorological conditions

The change in air quality was associated with falling temperatures, very light winds and a temperature inversion. These conditions restricted atmospheric air circulation, allowing local emissions and particulate matter (PM) to accumulate in the air near the ground.
Brief, light precipitation (0.1 mm) did not have a significant effect on reducing particulate matter concentrations in the air.
In addition, during the night, specialists from the National Centre for Environmental Monitoring conducted instrumental measurements of ambient air quality in the Yunusabad, Almazar, Shaykhantahur, Mirzo-Ulugbek, Mirobod, Chilanzar and Uchtepa districts.
According to the forecast, today, 29 October, air quality in Tashkent is expected to remain at the “Unhealthy” level under the international AQI, while the national index is expected to indicate the “Orange” category. Air quality may remain unhealthy during the evening hours as well.
