Continuous Monitoring of Ambient Air Quality Is Underway

On 9 October, from 10:00 p.m. to midnight, specialists from the State Inspectorate for Environmental Control of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change (Eco-Police) and the National Environmental Monitoring Centre conducted instrumental measurements of ambient air quality in the Yunusabad and Mirzo-Ulugbek districts of Tashkent.
For reference: During the night of 10–11 October, unfavourable meteorological conditions may lead to a temporary deterioration in air quality in Tashkent.
According to forecasts, during the night and morning hours, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to indicate conditions that may be unhealthy for sensitive groups, while air quality is forecast to remain at the “good” level under the national air quality standard.
According to global meteorological models and forecasts by Uzhydromet, light winds and a temperature inversion overnight may limit air circulation in the lower atmosphere. As a result, fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) may accumulate near the ground, leading to a temporary increase in concentrations during the night and morning hours.
During the day, as the ground warms, the inversion weakens and vertical air mixing intensifies, air quality is expected to gradually improve.
In view of these conditions, people are advised to avoid spending prolonged periods outdoors during the evening hours.
