No High Levels of Air Pollution Recorded in Tashkent Overnight on 9 October

After 8:00 p.m., particulate matter concentrations rose slightly. During the night and early morning, the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” category was recorded across a wider area. Under Uzbekistan’s national air quality classification system, however, the corresponding levels fall within the “green” category.
Monitoring data for the period from 5:00 p.m. on 8 October to 10:00 a.m. on 9 October show average citywide concentrations of 37 µg/m³ for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and 82 µg/m³ for PM10. The average AQI for this period was 104, placing air quality in the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” category. Under the national classification system, the average PM2.5 concentration was rated “green”, while PM10 was rated “yellow”.
Similar short-term increases in particulate matter concentrations may occur overnight and in the early morning through the end of the week.
Field inspections and ambient air quality monitoring are also continuing. Air quality assessments were carried out in areas surrounding "ALUTEX" LLC and the "V. L. Galperin Tashkent Pipe Plant LLC" in the Sergeli District, as well as "TRANS TEX BUTLASH" LLC in the Yangihayot District of Tashkent.
The Special Commission continues to monitor ambient air quality on an ongoing basis.
