Nearly 600 trees illegally cleared in Tashkent Region

In response, a joint inspection team comprising representatives of the Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change of Tashkent Region and the Bostanliq District Eco-Police was formed to investigate the reports. An on-site inspection was subsequently carried out.
The inspection found that “Y.D.” LLC had illegally uprooted 586 trees and shrubs from a 2-hectare site in the “Gazalkent” mahalla. The vegetation included 9 valuable hawthorn trees, 3 juniper trees, 3 cherry plum trees and 571 honeysuckle shrubs.
The company had previously been issued several warnings and instructed to comply with the relevant legal requirements. However, it failed to comply and attempted to resist the lawful actions of the authorities.
The Eco-Police have taken action to stop the violation. The remaining vegetation was cleared using specialised equipment and the environmental damage was assessed. According to the assessment, the illegal activity caused environmental damage estimated at 1 billion 705 million 660 thousand sums.
The case materials will be submitted to the relevant law enforcement authorities for legal review and further action in accordance with the law.
