The National Nature Park "Priaralie"

The National Nature Park "Priaralie" was established in 2019 and is located in the Buzatov district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The total area is 3165.95 hectares, with a protected area covering 2317.86 hectares, a recreational zone covering 488.72 hectares, and an area designated for economic purposes covering 399.37 hectares.
The natural park is situated northwest of Lake Davutkul at an altitude of 55-65 meters above sea level, with a width of 1-1.5 km and a length of 15 km. The area of the natural park is located along the borders of the Buzatov and Nukus districts.
The National Nature Park was created to preserve typical, rare, valuable natural objects and complexes, the genetic diversity of plants and animals, to prevent negative human impact on nature, to study natural processes, monitor the environment, and improve ecological education and awareness.
Natural conditions: More than 2800 hectares of the park's territory consists of tugai, narrow-leaved loach, thickets, and shrubs.
The climate is characterized by Turanian climatic conditions, with periodic rainfall in the winter-spring months. The climate is sharply continental, with cold winters and hot summers. The average temperature in January is -5°C, and in July, it is +32°C. Annual precipitation exceeds 110 mm, with a vegetation period of 90-100 days. The park intersects with the Amudarya National Nature Park from the west and northwest by 98 km. Wind movement varies significantly, with wind speeds ranging from 1.5-2 m/s in open areas to 15-20 m/s during strong winds. The dry season occurs in early summer and autumn, while the rainy season occurs in winter and spring.
Flora: 102 plant species have been discovered in the park.
Fauna: The park is home to 85 species of vertebrates, including 17 species of reptiles, 52 species of birds, and 16 species of mammals. Amphibians are represented by 2 species, reptiles by 17 species, accounting for 56.1% of reptiles in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Two species of animals - the gray monitor lizard (Varanus griseus D.) and the Central Asian tortoise (Testudo horsfieldi) - are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Additionally, 12 species of rare birds are included in the Red Book.
There are no hotels near the reserve. As the national park is located near the city of Nukus, visiting guests and tourists prefer to use hotels in the city center. The National Nature Park is located 80-85 km from the city of Nukus, the center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
