National Natural Park "Aral Kum" is located in the Muynak District of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It is surrounded by wastelands to the northwest, the Muynak State Forestry Enterprise to the southwest, the Kazakdaryin State Forestry Enterprise to the southeast, and the Republic of Kazakhstan to the north. The total area of the natural park is 1,000,000 hectares, with 585,000 hectares designated as a protected area, 125,000 hectares as a recreational area, and 290,000 hectares for economic purposes.
Natural Conditions: The national natural park is situated at an elevation ranging from 25 to 50 meters above sea level, with the highest point being the Vozrozhdeniye Peak. The territory of the national natural park features rocks, sand, gravel, clay, limestone, and conglomerates.
Flora: The territory is home to various plant species including saxaul, cherkiz, juzgun, reed, tamarisk, and in some areas, cystanch. Overall, there are more than 36 species of plants present.
Fauna: The fauna of Aral Kum National Park is diverse, with numerous animals inhabiting the area, such as saiga antelope, wolf, jackal, fox, hare, wild boar, as well as birds like owls, black crows, desert sparrows, and desert larks. Reptiles such as snakes, turtles, and lizards are also found in the park.
Ecotourism Attractions: In the 125,000-hectare recreational area of the park, visitors are attracted to artesian water emerging from a depth of 700 meters on the dry bed of the Aral Sea. Guest houses are located 80 kilometers away. The nearest populated settlement to the natural park is the village of "Uchsai," which is located 40 kilometers away.
The distance between the natural park and the center of the Muynak District is 60 kilometers.
