State Nature Reserve "Zaamin" is located on the northwestern slope of the Turkestan mountain range, bordering the Republic of Tajikistan to the south, Zomin National Park and Zomin Forestry on the east, Bakmal Forestry of Bakmal district to the west, and Mount Molguzar to the north.
The total area is 26,921 hectares, with a buffer zone of 3,516 hectares.
The reserve offers ecotourism attractions as well as cultural heritage sites that attract both foreign and domestic tourists.
Natural conditions: The territory consists mainly of mountain systems and includes three zones – lower, middle, and upper parts of the mountains (1700 - 4029 meters above sea level). The southern part of the Turkestan ridge is in the reserve. The northern part consists of terraces, with a relatively flat relief covered with layers of marl and loess-like clay soils.
Flora: The reserve is home to 105 families, 1,216 plant species belonging to 530 genera.
Fauna: Zomin State Nature Reserve is home to 102 bird species, 30 mammal species, 14 reptile species, 1 fish species, and 2 amphibian species.
Ecotourism: The ecotourism route "Nature of Baykungir" in Zaamin and Bakmal, the ecotourism route "Kyrk Kyz I" in the reserve, the ecotourism route "Chortangi Gorge," eco-routes "Kulsai Nature" and "Kashka-Water Observation Point" are very attractive for tourists. Visitors can observe the flora and fauna of the reserve, see steep cliffs, lower, middle, and upper parts of the mountains, snow-capped peaks, and dense fir forests.
The "Wyndham Garden Hotel Zaamin" is located 5 km from the reserve in Zamin district. There are also many modern guesthouses.
Distance: 110 km from Jizzakh city, through Zomin National Park to the Sufi mountain range of the reserve, and 100 km from Jizzakh city, through the village of Muzbulak in Bakmal district.
