General Information: Bukhara Specialized Nursery "Jeyran" is located between the cities of Kagan and Karaulbazar, along the A-380 highway, in the territory of the Bukhara district of the Bukhara region. Area: 16,522 hectares, of which the first zone, enclosed by a wire fence, covers 5,145 hectares, and the second zone, open space, covers 11,377 hectares.
Natural Conditions: The nursery is located in the southwest part of the Kyzylkum Desert, on the Karnabchul massif. The landscape mainly consists of hills. The area is at an altitude of over 330 meters above sea level, consisting of low hills of sand, barren lands, salt marshes, gypsum layers, rocks, and lakes.
In the southern part of the first section, there is a complex of lakes consisting of 3 lakes of different salinity. The water in the lakes is formed by a stream flowing along the Amu-Bukhara canal, underground filtration water, and annual precipitation.
In the second section, near the low mountain Kainagach, there are 4 small natural reservoirs of varying mineralization formed from groundwater.
The "Dzheiran" nursery is located in a drought-prone zone characterized by a harsh continental climate. The air temperature in summer reaches up to +54 degrees Celsius, while in winter it drops to -28 degrees Celsius. The annual precipitation amount is about 150-200 mm.
Flora: The area is home to saxauls, tugais, as well as plants of salt marshes and barren lands. The nursery has 46 families, 182 genera, and 267 species of tall plants.
Fauna: There are 257 species of birds, 36 species of mammals, 8 species of fish, 18 species of reptiles, 2 amphibians, and about 700 species of invertebrates inhabiting the area.
The following main species of mammals are bred in the nursery under special conditions: jeirans (1086 individuals), Turkmenian kulans (76 individuals), Przewalski's horses (22 individuals), Bukhara mountain sheep (38 individuals), Bukhara deer (1 individual).
Ecotourism: 8 eco-routes have been developed for the implementation of ecological tourism. Aviary, length (500 m.), "Aviary" and a small salt lake (2 km.), Aviary - Lakes - first observation tower (5 km.), "Aviary" - southern road along the Amu-Bukhara canal, by car (7 km).
Also, routes "Aviary" - southern road along the Amu-Bukhara canal, with a distance of 40 km, with the possibility of viewing other routes, Kainagach mountain (14 km.), walking and car trips. Night trips are also provided.
The nursery is located 10 km from the village of Chalkuvar in the Korovulbazar district, and 25 km from the city of Kagan.
Hotels or guest houses: A "Visitor Center" building is being constructed on the nursery premises, which also provides accommodation for guests.
Distances: The nursery is located 42 km from the city of Bukhara, 25 km from the city of Kagan, and 15 km from the Karaulbazar district.
