National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Following the appeal, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, together with the Andijan Regional Department of Ecology and the Environmental Police, conducted an environmental inspection at the company’s premises. The inspection found that the company had not put in place the necessary measures to protect air quality and lacked dust and gas control equipment for its stone-processing operations. Laboratory tests also showed that emissions of harmful substances into the air exceeded the permitted limits.

The inspection further found that production waste was being stored improperly on the company’s premises. It was also established that the company had been operating without a positive state environmental assessment.

To address the violations identified, the company’s operations were suspended for 10 days. The company was instructed to rectify the violations, ensure that waste is properly stored and removed in accordance with established requirements, and obtain a positive state environmental assessment. In addition, the company will be required to pay additional compensation for the environmental damage caused.
