National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

In response to the complaints, officers of the Environmental Police of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, having notified the relevant organisations, visited the premises of the “T.K.” enterprise. During an inspection of the area surrounding the enterprise, it was established that harmful emissions were indeed being released into the atmosphere. It was also found that construction waste was being taken outside the enterprise’s premises and dumped in an unauthorised location. However, the officers were denied access to the enterprise’s premises, while the enterprise’s management did not respond to telephone calls.

The matter was also referred to a number of relevant authorities, including the Kattakurgan City Hokimiyat, but no results have been achieved to date. Despite confirmation that the inspection was being conducted on a lawful basis, and that the Business Ombudsman had been notified to ensure the protection of entrepreneurs’ rights, the enterprise’s management is unlawfully obstructing the inspection.

In connection with the identified circumstances, an administrative offence report is being prepared pursuant to the relevant provisions of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility. In addition, an application is being submitted to the court seeking authorisation to inspect the enterprise’s activities.
