National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Representatives of the National Climate Change Centre under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change participated in the forum’s thematic sessions, presenting Uzbekistan’s experience in climate change adaptation, climate risk assessment, and the development of digital tools for environmental governance.

During bilateral meetings with representatives of the ADB and international organisations, agreements were reached to expand cooperation in the areas of air quality, combating desertification and land degradation and developing a national climate data system.

In particular, Uzbekistan will be included in ADB regional technical assistance projects focused on improving air quality and combating desertification. Discussions also covered the development of a national climate data platform using satellite technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as the implementation of a project to develop a "National Strategy for Reducing Black Carbon Emissions and Improving Air Quality under the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC)".

Uzbekistan’s participation in the forum marked an important step towards strengthening international cooperation and mobilising technical and financial support for the country’s environmental and climate initiatives.
