For information: In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 25, 2026, “On measures to implement the national project ‘Clean Air’ aimed at improving ambient air quality,” “Car-Free Day” and “Car-Free Week” campaigns are held on the 10th and 25th of each month.
The initiative is aimed at reducing harmful emissions from motor vehicles and thereby contributing to a more environmentally sustainable environment, while also promoting a culture of using public and environmentally friendly modes of transport.
In particular, as part of the “Car-Free Day” and “Car-Free Week” campaigns, employees of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change and its regional offices refrain from using official and private vehicles, opting instead for public transport, bicycles and other alternative modes of transportation. These efforts help reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere. They also contribute to easing traffic congestion in urban areas.
Attention! As part of the “Car-Free Day” and “Car-Free Week” campaigns, the use of motor vehicles by civil servants entails liability.
The Committee on Ecology calls on all public and private organizations, as well as citizens across the country, to actively participate in these campaigns and make greater use of “green” modes of transport, electric vehicles and public transport that do not generate harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
