Ecology and the Memory of the Landscape Explored at ARTepa

ARTepa Gallery at Astronomy Park hosted an artist talk with filmmaker and artist Saodat Ismailova, bringing together perspectives on ecology, environmental transformation and the memory of landscapes.
During the talk, Ismailova presented her ongoing artistic research into the disappearing Aral Sea, the Amu Darya River and the vanished presence of the Turan tiger. Drawing on film, archival materials, and oral histories, her practice explores how environmental change reshapes not only ecosystems and territories, but also collective memory, imagination, and our ways of perceiving the world.
The event was organized by ARTepa Gallery at Green University under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change and Art Station, in collaboration with the DAVRA research collective and with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), as part of the Central Asia Art and Culture Programme (CAACP).
