“Youth – Builders of the Future!”: Winners announced at the 5th International Environmental Congress

As part of the Congress, a series of seminars was held to further strengthen the environmental awareness and culture of young people. Participants heard from Rasul Kusherbayev, Advisor to the Chairman of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change; Jakhongirmirzo Mirzokobulov, Head of a Department at the Committee; Natalia Shivaldova, Chairperson of the Public Council under the Committee, and members of the Council; Elena Ikayeva, Press Secretary of the International Public Foundation “Zamin”; Khushnud Yakubov, a responsible officer of the Foundation; Erkin Abdulahатов, a specialist at the Hydrometeorological Research Institute; Bobur Narkuziyev, Senior Prosecutor at the General Prosecutor’s Office; Shirin Abidova, Head of the Association of Volunteers of Uzbekistan; and the Head of the Distance Learning Centre of Green University. They provided participants with valuable knowledge and insights into environmental issues and shared their practical experience.
The winners of the intellectual competitions and sports activities held as part of the Congress were also announced and awarded.
In the “Eco-Zakovat” intellectual competition among local teams, first place was won by the Namangan region team, second place by the Surkhandarya region team, and third place by the Bukhara region team.
In the international “What? Where? When?” intellectual competition, Belarus took first place, Uzbekistan second place, and Russia third place.

The International Congress contributes to increasing youth engagement in environmental and socio-economic initiatives, promoting the active involvement of young people in environmental protection, advancing promising environmental ideas and projects and developing proposals to address environmental challenges.
