A total of 778 houbara bustards have been released into their natural habitat in the desert areas of the Nurata and Navbahor districts of the Navoi Region. The initiative was carried out by the Department for the Development of Eco-Territories and Hunting Management under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, in cooperation with the Navoi Regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change and Falcon Hunting Solutions LLC.
The birds were bred at a specialized breeding center in the United Arab Emirates. The primary objective of the initiative is to restore and increase the houbara bustard population, conserve biodiversity, and maintain the natural balance of the desert ecosystem.
According to specialists, the successful adaptation and subsequent breeding of the released birds will contribute to the sustainable growth of this rare species. Such initiatives form an important part of ongoing efforts to protect wildlife, conserve rare and endangered species, and restore their natural habitats.
