Projects on Waste Management and Dust Storm Monitoring Discussed with ACWA Power

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the progress of ongoing joint initiatives in the fields of environmental protection, waste management, and climate change adaptation, and discussed new areas of cooperation.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the implementation of a US$260 million project to establish a modern hazardous industrial waste management complex in Uzbekistan. The parties discussed further measures aimed at accelerating the implementation of the project.
The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the development of a national sand and dust storm monitoring and early warning system.
The project envisages the establishment of a modern monitoring system, the integration of the national platform with international early warning systems, the development of joint forecasting models, and the organization of data exchange among relevant institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to expanding cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at introducing advanced environmental technologies, enhancing environmental safety, and promoting the sustainable development of Uzbekistan.
