From 19 May to 22 July this year, Eco Police officers carried out inspection raids in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region. The primary focus was on identifying cases of the illegal transportation and dumping of construction waste in unauthorized locations, as well as the illegal felling of trees.

During the operations in the Yukorichirchiq, Kuyichirchiq, Zangiota, and Kibray districts of the Tashkent region, as well as the Yangihayot, Yunusabad, and Sergeli districts of the capital, numerous violations of environmental legislation were detected. It was established that individuals had transported and illegally dumped construction waste outside designated disposal sites using vehicles.

As a result of the raids, 48 administrative reports were issued against the offenders. The total amount of fines imposed reached UZS 316.3 million.

In addition, inspectors identified a driver who had committed a repeat offense within one year involving the illegal dumping of waste. The necessary documents are currently being prepared for submission to the relevant law enforcement authorities in accordance with the established legal procedures.

The National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change reminds the public that the illegal dumping of waste causes serious harm to the environment, deteriorates the sanitary and ecological condition of affected areas, and entails liability under the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Eco Police raid operations will continue on a regular basis across all regions of the country.
