In the Zarafshan National Nature Park in Samarkand Region, fire prevention monitoring and patrols have been intensified in areas most vulnerable to wildfires. Artificial watering points for wild animals, including endangered species listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, are being replenished on a regular basis. Artificial ponds for the enclosed population of Bukhara deer have been filled and are under continuous monitoring. One-tonne water storage tanks have been positioned at key locations throughout the park, while firefighting vehicles and equipment remain on permanent standby.
Similar measures are being implemented in the “Central Kyzylkum” National Nature Park in Navoi Region, where the condition of natural and artificial water sources is being continuously monitored to ensure an adequate water supply for wild animals and birds. Park rangers regularly inspect watering sites, replenish water supplies and establish additional watering points where required.
Preventive measures are also being strengthened in the “Sudoche–Akpetki” and “Barsakelmes” State Nature Reserves in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the “Aktag–Tamdi” State Nature Reserve in Navoi Region, the “Zaamin” State Nature Reserve in Jizzakh Region, the “Surkhan”State Nature Reserve in Surkhandarya Region, the “Kyzylkum” State Nature Reserve, which spans Khorezm and Bukhara Regions, as well as in other protected natural areas across the country.
As part of these efforts, seminars and training sessions are being conducted to reinforce strict compliance with fire safety requirements during the period of extreme heat and staff are receiving practical guidance and recommendations on wildfire prevention and emergency preparedness.
