Heatwave warning: Protect yourself, nature and all living things!

During this period, it is essential to pay particular attention to your health and the safety of your loved ones. Whenever possible, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day, stay well hydrated and take all necessary precautions to protect yourself from extreme heat.
The heatwave poses a serious threat not only to human health but also to the environment. Prolonged high temperatures can cause trees and shrubs to dry out, deteriorate the condition of green spaces, lead to the loss of young saplings and adversely affect wildlife.
The National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change calls on citizens, organisations and all responsible institutions to pay special attention to the protection of flora and fauna, particularly the young saplings planted under the nationwide "Yashil Makon" (Green Space) initiative. These saplings are especially vulnerable to extreme heat and require additional care and timely irrigation.
Local government authorities, municipal services, enterprises and organisations are encouraged to continue cooling streets and public spaces, intensify the irrigation of green areas, ensure the uninterrupted operation of irrigation systems, closely monitor recently planted trees and take additional measures to prevent wildfires and safeguard natural resources.
Every tree preserved, every sapling watered and every timely action taken today is a meaningful contribution to the environmental security and sustainable future of our country.
Protect yourself, your loved ones and our nature!
