Cooperation on the sustainable development of mountain regions discussed with the Kyrgyz Republic

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral and regional cooperation on the sustainable development of mountain regions, preparations for the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25", and prospects for expanding scientific collaboration and joint environmental initiatives.
The Kyrgyz side briefed the participants on preparations for the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25", which will take place in Bishkek on 21–23 October 2027 and expressed its hope that the Republic of Uzbekistan would participate in the event at a high level.
Particular attention was given to the conservation of mountain ecosystems, assessing the impacts of climate change, glacier monitoring, and mobilizing international financing for sustainable development projects.
The Kyrgyz side also expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University).
For their part, the representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional cooperation in environmental protection, the conservation of mountain ecosystems and climate change adaptation. They also highlighted Uzbekistan's participation in a number of international initiatives related to glacier research, the cryosphere, and the conservation of transboundary mountain ecosystems.
The meeting concluded with the Uzbek side inviting its Kyrgyz partners to participate in Eco Expo Central Asia 2027, which will be held in Tashkent on 15–17 June 2027.
