National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The event was attended by heads of the Departments of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Zarrina Abdullayeva, Abdurashid Sadykov, Deputy Khokim of Kashkadarya region for Tourism, Alisher Zakirov, khokim of Shakhrisabz district, Samad Khasanov, representatives of local and foreign media.

Speaking at a press conference, Zarrina Abdullayeva noted that this year's gathering covered not only the tourism sector, but also the environment.

"Ecology and tourism are closely linked. It is impossible to attract tourists without keeping the environment clean. Therefore, at this year's gathering, special attention is paid to the further formation of environmental culture among young people, strengthening environmental knowledge, and strengthening a sense of connection with nature. Upcoming events – eco-quest, plogging, intellectual games, and other events included in the program of the event will unite young people on the way to the goals of environmental protection and ecotourism development", said Zarrina Abdullayeva.

It was noted at the conference that youth representatives from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are taking part in the international gathering. Also, 56 talented schoolchildren, students and young people were attracted from each region of our country, including those in need of social protection, persons with disabilities, and those included in the "Youth Notebook".

During the event, it was noted that domestic and foreign tourism is developing rapidly in our country, the number of young people is significantly increasing in the flow of tourists, and special attention is being paid to solving problems in this direction.

The program of the meeting includes seminars, debates, intellectual games, friendly events, contests of the best environmental and tourism projects, exhibitions, film screenings in the "Open Air" format, plogging, national and ethnosport games, master classes. In addition, sports games, "Spartakiad of Youth", elections to the “Young Ecologists” movement and to the Council of Youth Tourism Ambassadors, as well as excursions to the Aksaray architectural complex in Shakhrisabz will be organized for participants.
