“Eco-Zakovat” Unites Youth from Central Asia and Azerbaijan to Enhance Environmental Awareness and Knowledge

The competition brought together youth teams from Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, as well as teams representing the 12 regions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The tournament was conducted in two stages. During the first stage, local teams tested their knowledge of environmental protection. Participants answered 24 questions covering topics such as the protection of atmospheric air, the sustainable use of natural resources, the prevention of waste disposal in unauthorized locations and other environmental issues. Following the results of this stage, the team from Surkhandarya Region secured first place, followed by Tashkent Region in second place and the Republic of Karakalpakstan in third place.
The second stage featured competition among youth teams from the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. The team representing Uzbekistan won first place, while the Republic of Kazakhstan took second place and the Kyrgyz Republic secured third place. The winners were duly recognized and awarded.
The international “Eco-Zakovat” tournament contributes to strengthening environmental awareness and knowledge among young people, bringing together youth from Uzbekistan and abroad around the shared goal of protecting nature and promoting the exchange of experience and best practices.
