Among the first high-ranking guests to land at Samarkand International Airport was Claude Gascon, Acting CEO and Director of Strategy and Operations at the Global Environment Facility. The distinguished guest was welcomed by representatives of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, led by the First Deputy Minister of Ecology, Obidjon Kudratov.

Accompanied by the Uzbek hosting party, the delegation proceeded to the Silk Road Samarkand tourist complex, which will serve as the venue for the upcoming international events. It is here that one of the region's largest environmental gatherings will take place, uniting representatives from over 185 countries to discuss pressing issues concerning the environment, climate change, and sustainable development.
