The Special Commission Warns of Short-Term Dust Storms in Tashkent

Forecasts indicate partly cloudy conditions throughout the day, with brief rain showers and thunderstorms possible in some areas. Winds are expected to be predominantly westerly at 3–8 m/s, occasionally strengthening to 10–12 m/s and reaching up to 15 m/s in certain districts. Against the backdrop of stronger winds, localized dust storms may occur in some areas.
As a result of these processes, a temporary increase in the concentration of particulate matter in the atmospheric air, particularly PM10, is possible. However, this phenomenon is expected to be short-lived and the arrival of moist western air masses together with precipitation is anticipated to contribute to the gradual improvement of air quality.
Specialists recommend taking precautionary measures during periods of stronger winds, particularly for individuals suffering from respiratory illnesses, allergies and cardiovascular conditions. Unless necessary, prolonged outdoor exposure is not advised. Residents are also encouraged to keep windows and doors closed and where possible, use protective masks.
The Special Commission is currently conducting continuous monitoring of atmospheric air quality.
