Another “Car-Free Day” Campaign Takes Place Across the Republic

For reference: in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 46 of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 25 March 2026, “On Measures for the Implementation of the Nationwide Project ‘Clean Air’ Aimed at Improving Ambient Air Quality”, beginning from 1 May 2026, Car-Free Day and Car-Free Week campaigns are to be held on the 10th and 25th day of each month.
Under the Decree, the use of official vehicles by public civil servants is prohibited during these campaigns.
The initiative is aimed at protecting public health through the reduction of harmful vehicle emissions, promoting healthy lifestyles, decreasing the volume of pollutants released into the atmosphere, fostering an environmentally sustainable environment and widely encouraging the use of public and environmentally friendly transport.
According to the protocol of the special commission, the use of official vehicles by public civil servants during the Car-Free Day and Car-Free Week campaigns is considered a violation of ethical and professional conduct standards. Failure to comply with the established requirements will constitute grounds for disciplinary action by the heads of state bodies and organizations.
Dear compatriots, we encourage you to actively participate in the "Car-Free Day" and "Car-Free Week" campaigns by reducing the use of private vehicles and choosing public, environmentally safe, and green modes of transport instead.
