During the raids, it turned out that the regional divisions of the Sports Union of Hunters and Fishermen of Uzbekistan in Andijan, Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Surkhandarya, and Khorezm regions did not control the full return of hunting permits. As a result, in 2020-2022, hunters did not return 9690 hunting tickets after using them, which violated the requirements of Article 29 of the Law "On Hunting and Hunting Economy". This, in turn, created conditions for the repeated use of hunting permits and illegal hunting.
The Ministry of Ecology also studied the activities of the Syrdarya regional branch of the association based on numerous appeals received from citizens. As a result, it became known that even though the hunting farm's contract for the provision of hunting grounds expired on December 31, 2022, during 2023, the farm sold illegal hunting permits for 25 thousand heads of animals.
Also, contrary to the requirements of Article 23 of the Law "On Hunting and Hunting Economy", in 20 cases, based on permits issued by this farm, 49 wild birds were hunted by hunters within the prohibited time limits.
During the control measures in 2023, 997 cases of violations of hunting and fishing rules were identified in the republic, in connection with which measures were taken against 995 persons in the amount of 1.7 billion sums. In addition, in the first and second quarters of 2024, fines in the amount of 957 million sums were imposed on 298 persons in 287 cases related to violations of hunting and fishing rules.
The collected materials on these facts have been transferred to law enforcement agencies and a legal assessment of the situation is currently being given.
For information: since February 28, our country has completed the hunting season by the Law "On Hunting and Hunting economy". The ban will last until August 15.
According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 8, 2020, No. 627, "On hunting and hunting economy", it is prohibited from March 10 to fish in natural reservoirs in all regions of the republic.
