Speaking at the event, Alisher Salomov, Adviser to the Chairman of the Committee on Ecology, noted that the country’s leadership attaches great importance to promoting environmental awareness and ecological culture among the population. He emphasised that Mother Earth would help foster environmental consciousness, ecological values and a sense of responsibility among younger generations.
“Mother Earth is the first children’s play in Uzbekistan dedicated to environmental issues. At its core is the relationship between humanity and nature. The production seeks to show children that harmful human activity is pushing nature towards crisis, while also reminding us that if we think about protecting the environment in our everyday actions, we will be able to live healthy lives on this planet and future generations will grow up in a safe and thriving world,” said A. Salomov.
Based on the work of writer Madina Muminova, the production offers a vivid and emotional portrayal of the relationship between people and nature. Through the voice of Mother Earth, the audience is encouraged to treat the environment with greater care and responsibility.
“There is a consequence to every action. If today we waste water, cut down trees, and harm birds and wildlife, the consequences tomorrow will be serious. Our goal is to instil this understanding in young people and teach them to value and preserve nature’s gifts. If, after watching the performance, children develop a genuine love for nature and become more mindful of wastefulness, then we will have achieved our purpose,” said Farida Umarova, Honoured Artist of Uzbekistan.
Through dance, monologues, songs and a range of theatrical scenes, the performance encourages young audiences to reflect on the importance of protecting nature and recognising their environmental responsibility. The production also makes extensive use of modern visual technologies and special effects to depict both environmental degradation and nature’s restoration.
Incorporating elements of contemporary choreography, the actors portrayed the harmful consequences of industrial expansion, waste accumulation, deforestation, water pollution and the destruction of plant and animal life.
