Hydrometeorological Services to Be Expanded and Aviation Meteorological Safety System to Be Enhanced in Uzbekistan

In accordance with the resolution, programmes have been approved for equipping remote snow measurement stations with modern snow-monitoring equipment in order to monitor snow cover in the high-mountain regions of Uzbekistan during 2027–2028, as well as for the modernization of automated aviation meteorological stations at the country’s airports in 2026–2028.
In addition, in order to enhance civil aviation safety, the resolution provides for the modernization of the aviation meteorological station located at Urgench International Airport in the Khorezm region and the provision of modern equipment to relevant facilities.
The resolution also stipulates the installation of an automated aviation meteorological station along the airport’s runway, fully equipped with the necessary external engineering and communication infrastructure, including electricity supply, communications systems, internet connectivity and a backup generator.
This resolution is aimed at improving the accuracy of weather forecasting, enhancing the early warning system for hazardous hydrometeorological phenomena and ensuring the safety of national aviation operations in accordance with international standards.
