Cat X is the only professional cat exhibition held in Uzbekistan. Its primary goal is to promote responsible pet care, foster a culture of humane treatment of animals, support animal shelters, and facilitate the adoption of stray animals. The project also aims to contribute to the development of feline science and strengthen international cooperation in this field.
Cat X is organized as a non-profit event under the accreditation of the World Cat Federation (WCF). Each year, the exhibition brings together professional breeders, international judges and experts, shelter representatives, volunteers, and thousands of visitors. All proceeds raised during the event are directed toward supporting homeless animals at the non-governmental non-profit organization “Hayot,” as well as sterilization programmes for stray animals implemented under the “Mushukkent” initiative.
In 2026, the exhibition will be held in Uzbekistan for the seventh time, but for the first time it will receive official international status under the auspices of WCF. Last year’s event featured around 80 animals from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and other countries, while attendance exceeded 7,000 visitors. This year, organizers expect even broader international participation. Experts and guests are expected to arrive in Tashkent from Germany, China, Hungary, Latvia, Croatia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Approximately 12,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition.
The programme will begin on 29 May with the educational platform CatX Talk. During the seminar, international and local experts will discuss the conservation of rare feline species in Uzbekistan’s wildlife, the country’s achievements in protecting endangered animals, international WCF practices, feline genetics, shelter development and the use of modern media technologies to promote humane treatment of animals.
The main exhibition programme will take place on 30 and 31 May. Visitors will be able to enjoy an international cat show, special competitions and expert judging, entertainment programmes, a pet products fair, adoption showcases for homeless animals and an official awards ceremony for the winners.
The event is organized by the World Cat Federation (Germany) and the non-governmental non-profit organization “Hayot,” with the support of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, the Tashkent city administration and other partner organizations.
The event will take place at High Town City Mall in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. Admission is free of charge.
