A New Vice Rector Appointed at Green University!

During the event held at Green University, Chairman of the Committee on Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov introduced the professor to the university staff and noted that Professor Zou possesses extensive experience in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Professor Zou is recognized as one of China’s most highly cited researchers. He graduated from Nanjing University and holds a PhD in Geography and Management. His academic interests encompass tourism, natural resources, ecology, cultural heritage and sustainable development.
In his remarks, Tunqian Zou emphasized the importance of transforming Green University into a leading regional platform for applied environmental research, innovation and international academic cooperation. He highlighted the growing global demand for green skills and sustainability professionals, underscoring the need to strengthen the linkages between science, public policy, and industry.
The professor also outlined strategic priorities aimed at enhancing the quality of scientific research, expanding international cooperation, advancing green technologies and artificial intelligence and developing practical solutions to the climate and environmental challenges facing Central Asia.
Prior to this appointment, Tunqian Zou served as Assistant President of Beijing International Studies University, Dean of the Chinese Academy of Culture and Tourism, and Vice Rector of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand.
Professor Zou has been recognized in China as a “National Leading Specialist” and is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. He has led major international projects supported by UNESCO, the National Social Science Fund of China, and the World Tourism Cities Federation. In addition, he has been awarded the “Protector of Nature” and “Dedicated to Tourism” honorary badges.
