In the letter, he expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome, hospitality, and genuine goodwill extended during his working visit to the ancient city of Bukhara — a jewel not only of Central Asia but of world civilization as a whole.
For reference: the President of Kazakhstan visited Uzbekistan on 11 April. During the visit, the two Heads of State underscored the importance of joint efforts in the rational use of water resources and the advancement of regional environmental initiatives, including the implementation of the “Clean Air” project in border areas.
In his letter, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that upon returning to Astana, he had issued specific instructions to ensure the implementation of the agreements reached and reaffirmed during the visit, as well as to take into account Uzbekistan’s valuable experience across various sectors. In particular, special attention was given to the joint “Clean Air” initiative.
It should be noted that the nationwide “Clean Air” project is aimed not only at addressing environmental challenges within Uzbekistan, but also at tackling transboundary issues. The project envisages a 10.5% reduction in harmful emissions into the atmosphere, increasing the capture rate of emissions from industrial facilities to 32%, reducing pollutant emissions from transport by 10%, expanding green coverage and addressing a number of other important objectives.
In conclusion, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the effective implementation of these tasks would contribute to elevating the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries to a new level.
