For reference: Uzbekistan developed and officially submitted its third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) under the Paris Agreement at the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP30), held in November 2025 in Belém, Brazil.
In line with its national circumstances and capabilities, Uzbekistan has committed to reducing specific greenhouse gas emissions per unit of GDP by 50 percent from 2010 levels by 2035.
The letter notes that NDC 3.0 reflects the country’s enhanced climate ambition. It also highlights its broad sectoral coverage, its orientation towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2055, and its alignment with the outcomes of the Global Stocktake. It is further emphasized that the decisions adopted at COP30 in Belém strengthen global efforts to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.
Simon Stiell reaffirmed the readiness of the UNFCCC Secretariat to continue providing comprehensive support to the Republic of Uzbekistan in achieving the goals set out in NDC 3.0.
In turn, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining active cooperation with international partners in implementing climate policy aimed at sustainable development, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing the country’s climate resilience.
