A project is underway to ensure a water supply system adapted to climate conditions

The project is being implemented pursuant to Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 257, dated 24 May 2022. It is financed with the participation of the Asian Development Bank and carried out under the programme “Climate-Resilient Water Supply and Sewerage Services.”
The hearings brought together local residents, chairpersons of mahalla citizens’ assemblies, representatives of relevant government agencies, environmental organizations and project initiators.
During the event, detailed information was presented on the project’s key objectives, implementation stages and potential environmental impacts. Measures to mitigate environmental risks during the construction phase were also discussed.
Experts delivered presentations outlining the planned activities for the development of drinking water supply and sewerage systems. It was emphasized that improving public amenities, enhancing sanitary conditions and ensuring environmental sustainability are among the project’s key priorities.
The hearings also provided an opportunity to consider comments and suggestions from citizens, contributing to transparency and openness in the project’s implementation.
It should be noted that such projects play a significant role in protecting public health, improving quality of life and developing modern infrastructure.
