National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The decree provides for further streamlining of how “My Garden” projects are organized, alongside the introduction of new implementation mechanisms. Notably, at least one project that did not secure funding through the “Open Budget” portal will be selected as a winner by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, taking into account both the interests of constituents and the environmental conditions of the respective area.

Projects will also be developed with due regard to local soil and climate conditions, as well as regional water availability. When identifying land plots for implementation, priority will be given to vacant sites in district and city centers, areas with high population density, and spaces surrounding multi-apartment residential buildings.

Important: Land allocated for the establishment of green gardens and public parks may not be repurposed for any other use.

The decree further introduces a new approach within the “My Garden” initiative, covering the planting of trees and other vegetation, their regular care and the proper maintenance of newly established green spaces and public parks.
