According to the document, as part of the nationwide "Yashil Makon" project, an inventory of land plots will be carried out in order to expand green areas. Protective forest belts and green belts will be established in the border districts of Surkhandarya region — Angor, Jarkurgan, Muzrabot, Kizirik and Termez districts, as well as the city of Termez — and in Syrdarya region, in Syrdarya, Mirzaabad, Oqoltin and Khavast districts.
In addition, in order to promote water conservation and support the development of green belts, pilot projects will be implemented on artificial precipitation enhancement and the creation of artificial glaciers in the upper reaches of the Topalang River basin. A system will also be developed for training hydrometeorological specialists in innovative climate-related technologies, alongside the organization of advanced training programmes for such specialists.
Plans also include conducting fundamental, applied and scientific research aimed at introducing modern technologies to reduce the negative impact of strong winds and dust storms, prevent the degradation of agricultural lands and pastures and protect, conserve and restore flora and fauna.
This Resolution will contribute to the greening of the border areas of Surkhandarya and Syrdarya regions, as well as to reducing the negative impact of climate change on the environment and public health.
