During the raid, at around 11:30 p.m., it was established on the central Mirzachul Canal, which runs through the Sardoba Reservoir area in Sardoba District, that individuals had illegally caught 54 fish of five species using a prohibited fishing device — an electric fishing rod.

As a result, the requirements of Article 21 of the Law “On Nature Protection,” as well as Articles 32, 34, and 51 of the Law “On the Protection of Wildlife,” were grossly violated. The damage caused to wildlife amounted to 733 million 360 thousand sums.

The relevant documents are currently being prepared for submission to the prosecuting authorities.

For reference: an earlier case of illegal fishing using electric current was also detected in the Tuyabugiz Reservoir area, and the offenders were sentenced to imprisonment.
