The upcoming event will serve as one of the key regional platforms for fostering coordinated dialogue on pressing climate and environmental issues. The summit’s agenda covers a wide range of topics—from supporting the climate transition and adapting to climate change to ensuring economic resilience to natural risks, food security, and the preservation of regional ecosystems.
Special attention will be given to sustainable natural resource management, combating air pollution, effective waste management, and promoting a fair and inclusive green transition. The agenda also includes mechanisms for achieving environmental goals and advancing environmental and digital competencies as a foundation for a sustainable future.
It is expected that heads of state of Central Asian countries, representatives of government bodies, international organizations, development institutions, the scientific community, businesses, and civil society will participate in the summit. The total number of delegates is estimated at around 1,500.
An important part of the event will be the international exhibition “RES 2026 EXPO,” a specialized platform aimed at showcasing practical technological and investment solutions in the field of sustainable development. The exhibition will bring together governments, international organizations, global companies, financial institutions, and investors, creating opportunities for direct dialogue, partnership development, and the launch of joint green initiatives. According to organizers, the exhibition will host participants from more than 30 countries, over 300 companies, and more than 20,000 professional visitors.
The exhibition will cover key areas of sustainable development, including new energy, water resources, digital solutions and smart cities, waste management, environmental technologies, ESG and green finance, sustainable agriculture, and green construction.
The exhibition’s business program is designed for three days and includes high-level plenary sessions, thematic panels, workshops, and special events. Key topics include the development of renewable energy, water technologies, digital transformation of resource management, ESG reporting and carbon accounting, as well as the implementation of environmental standards in construction and industry.
Particular emphasis will be placed on practical formats of engagement, such as environmental startup showcases, presentations of innovative solutions, eco-technology days, and professional discussions. The cultural and public program will include an art exhibition, environmental greening campaigns, screenings of environmental films, and specialized forums, including the Green Invest Forum and a startup competition.
The goal of RES 2026 EXPO is to bring together countries of the region to develop coordinated solutions to key environmental challenges, including the preservation of the Aral Sea, issues of the Caspian basin, the development of green finance, and the adoption of low-carbon technologies. Following the event, joint initiatives, declarations, and an action program for 2026–2030 are expected to be developed.
