The jungle cat is a carnivorous mammal belonging to the feline family, and its appearance resembles a lynx. It is larger than all types of domestic cats: its length is 54-94 cm, its tail is up to 30 cm, and its weight reaches 8-12 kg. It feeds on birds, rodents, and hares. It is found in the riparian zones of rivers in Central Asia, in the middle and lower reaches of the Amu Darya, and in reed beds and forests.
The tolai hare is a herbivorous animal living in desert and semi-desert areas, and it feeds on plant roots, stems, and fruits. These creatures mainly lead a nocturnal lifestyle and are found among sand dunes. They are widely distributed in the desert and sandy areas of Uzbekistan and play an important role in the desert ecosystem.
For information, the "Sudoche-Akpetki" state reserve was established in 2021 in the Muynak and Takhtakupir districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. There are 27 species of fauna found in the territory, 5 of which are included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
