Tashkent Hosts National School Competition on Environmental Legislation

During the competition, teams competed in four categories. In the segment “This Is Our Territory”, participants presented information on the environmental situation in their regions, the level of environmental awareness, picnic culture, measures being implemented locally to improve the environmental situation, and young people’s attitudes toward environmental issues. In the “Intellectual Ring” segment, participants answered 10 questions covering environmental, social and public legal topics.
In the segment “We Are All Responsible for the Environment!”, teams presented instructive stage performances highlighting projects aimed at preserving the country’s environment and promoting environmental awareness among young people. Their performances addressed such topics as plogging, climate change, tree planting, and water resource challenges. In the “Best Environmental Project” segment, teams presented proposals and projects aimed at advancing the environmental sector nationwide, increasing the number of young environmentalists, attracting investment in environmental initiatives and expanding the country’s environmental potential.
According to the results of the competition, first place was awarded to the team from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, second place to the team from Tashkent Region and third place to the team from Jizzakh Region.
The final stage of the competition among teams from vocational educational institutions will take place in Bukhara Region on March 25–28.
For reference, the competition is aimed at raising young people’s legal awareness and legal culture in the field of ecology, ensuring the rule of law and strengthening legality, fostering respect for the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other legislative acts, promoting respect for the national legal system, developing legal resilience to factors that negatively affect legal education and cultivating intolerance toward violations of the law.
