Environmental Damage of Nearly 1.5 Billion Sums Recorded in Akhangaran District

During the raid, it was established that on an 11.5-hectare land plot in the "Karasuvyoka" mahalla, the farming enterprise “F.A.B” had illegally cut down and buried, together with their roots, more than 100 mature ornamental trees and shrubs.
During the examination of the site, the root remains of 59 trees were identified. In order to prevent the destruction of the remaining roots, local activists were involved and a watch was organized at the site.
As a result of the violation, and in accordance with Resolution No. 464 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 22 August 2022, the damage caused to nature has been assessed at 1 billion 463 million 12 thousand sums. For reference, under this resolution, during the moratorium period the amount of compensation for the illegal felling of valuable species of trees and shrubs outside the state forest fund is doubled.
The materials collected in connection with this case are being forwarded to the relevant law enforcement authorities for legal assessment.
