Illegal Hunting of a Bukhara Argali Identified in the “Babatag” Area

The Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change of the Surkhandarya Region conducted a routine operational inspection in the area.

During the inspection within the territory of the Babatag State Forestry, it was established that citizen T.I., using his legally owned hunting rifle, illegally hunted one Bukhara argali (Ovis ammon bocharensis), a species listed in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As a result, the requirements of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Hunting and Hunting Management” and “On the Protection and Use of Wildlife” were violated.
In accordance with the annex to Resolution No. 649 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 7 December 2023, the damage caused to wildlife as a result of the offence amounts to 412 million sums.
Investigative actions are currently underway in connection with this case.
